New media guide tour

In collaboration with the University of Stuttgart, a media guide tour for our museum has been developed over the past few months. This tour takes you on a unique journey through our collection: Using poetic and literary texts, students from the University of Stuttgart vividly describe works by well-known artists—from the early modern period through the 19th century. For example, you’ll rediscover paintings by Rembrandt, Johann Heinrich Füssli, Edward Burne-Jones, and Caspar David Friedrich. In the seminar “The Blind Witness: Poetry and Painting” led by Dr. Jessica Bundschuh of the Department of English Literature and Culture, participants explored how to provide blind and visually impaired people with better access to art. To this end, Katharina Rohne, Head of Digital Outreach at the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart, and Dr. Jessica Bundschuh collaborated with the students to develop an audio tour that appeals to all the senses.
