Sammlung
Historical roots in Württemberg and an international orientation after World War II define the distinctive character of the collections today. They stand out for their diversity of European 14th to 20th century art and American avant-garde after 1945 with different emphases on artists, epochs or styles in the respective collection. Moreover the represented genres like painting, sculpture, drawing, graphic or photography show a variety of artistic techniques. The four archives with their extensive inventories of letters, books and many other documents are an attraction to researchers. Bei rund 3.500 Gemälden, ca. 500 Plastiken und 400.000 Graphiken können wir selbstverständlich immer nur eine Auswahl unserer Werke präsentieren. Daher kann es durchaus vorkommen, dass Sie ein bestimmtes Werk bei Ihrem Besuch nicht ausgestellt finden, auch wenn es hier zu sehen ist.
